Tatum : a story of IVDD recovery without surgery
Tatum is a wonderful little man who presented with severe spinal pain and weakness due to Inter Vertebral Disc Disease (IVDD).
This is a common and troublesome condition in certain breeds of dog: especially dachshunds. He had been treated with rest, pain relief but his owner felt there was limited progress and he was incredibly stiff, weak in his core muscles and hind limbs and was expressing pain and depression.
We proceeded with caution as his spinal cord and neurological function remains at risk with this condition however with physiotherapy and hydrotherapy he improved in just a few sessions and regained his character and love of life.
